Get Creative with Dragons!

What is a story without a dragon?

A friend like Pete or foe like Smaug, dragons to take us flying or they hoard all the treasure. You get to decide, it’s your story after all.

Materials needed:

Printer
Black card stock
Popsicle sticks or wooden coffee stir sticks (they tend to be a bit longer)
Glue stick or hot glue
Scissors
Pencil

Steps:

Go here: http://clipart-library.com/free/dragon-silhouette-png.html to pick out a free dragon silhouette.
Print and cut out the dragon.
Lay the printed cut-out dragon onto the black card stock and trace it with a pencil, then cut it out.
Attach popsicle sticks to the backside of the dragon to help it move when you tell stories. See the next step before you start gluing.
Bonus: Go the extra step and cut the dragon's head off!! Don’t worry, you will put it back together by poking a small hole at the bottom of the neck and a matching hole on the body where the neck used to be with your pencil. Connect them with a small metal brad. Glue one stick to the back of the head and one to the body. Now your dragon can talk by moving its head.
Get your OwlCrate Jr Lunar Lamp or another light source and shine light behind your dragon while placing your shadow puppet in front of the light source onto a wall - now your shadow puppets come to life!
