'Midnight Strikes' Book Club Readalong Day 7!

Welcome readers to the final day of our book club read along for OwlCrate's March book, Midnight Strikes by Zeba Shanaz.

This will be a SPOILER discussion for Chapters 19 to the end of Midnight Strikes, so ensure you have finished these chapters before continuing.

The Story Concludes...

Chapter 19:
Part 2
Leo and Anaïs convince the king to meet with Faucher, but are intercepted by Clara. Leo and Clara fight, each using a powerful talisman, eventually collapsing the tunnel they are in, separating Anaïs and Leo from Clara. Anaïs realized in the struggle that Clara must have stolen her amulet. Leo can’t sense it, but tells her it’s simple - Anaïs isn’t allowed to die anymore.

Part 3:
Leo and Anaïs find Gaspard and co., but before a decision with Faucher can be made Clara appears again, this time missing a hand and her talisman, but still raging with power. The bombs in the palace go off. Clara kills the king as Faucher flees. Anaïs reveals to Leo his previous idea of swearing a blood oath to her so she can use his magic, but it doesn’t go to plan. Anaïs has no idea how to control it. Eventually Leo too succumbs to Clara’s power, leaving Anaïs alone, but with both types of magic. She manages to overpower Clara.

Anaïs awakes and goes to Leo’s body. Using his oath from childhood, promising to serve Ivarea even after death, Anaïs wakes him.

Part 4:
Anaïs wakes in the palace. The king and Leo’s siblings are dead, and Leo is to be crowned. After some time Leo comes to visit her, returning her amulet, granting Anaïs a choice. Anaïs puts the amulet away without looking at what lays inside.
