2024 Holiday Shipping Cut-Off Dates


Looking to receive your order before the 25th of December? Be sure to order sooner than later.


For our customers in the US, be sure to place your orders by December 15th. Though we will be processing orders right up until December 22nd, we can’t guarantee anything ordered after the 15th will arrive in time for the big day.


If you are ordering apparel or similar special collection items, please place your order by December 9th.


For our international customers, we suggest placing your orders before November 27th. International shipping can always be a bit chaotic during the holidays so we can never guarantee an order will arrive by December 25th, but for the best chance of having your order arrive in time, please order before November 27th.


We will resume shipping all other orders after the holiday break.


Are you a Canadian Customer? 


Due to the Canada Post Strike, we will be holding all pending shipments to Canada until the strike is over and they have resumed service. 


Any orders shipped between November 9th and November 29th will experience delays as those packages are in the hands of Canada Post. We hope the strike will be over soon and your orders will be with you in good time.

During the past few years, we have faced many shipping challenges - mostly due to supply chain demands. While we're happy to report that shipping delays are much less common these days, sometimes an item can take a little longer than usual to reach our warehouse. We will always update this page to make sure you have the most up-to-date information regarding your shipment - even if it is to say everything is on schedule!


All shipping schedules are listed below. We typically ship monthly subscription orders between the 15th and 25th of the month.

When will my order ship?

Monthly Subscription Boxes:

  • Young Adult Book & Goodies boxes, as well as YA Book Only subscriptions, typically ship between the 15th and 20th of each month.
  • Adult Fantasy Book Only subscriptions will be shipped between the 20th and 25th of each month.
  • Please note: If you purchased your subscription later in the month/after the first batch of shipments have already been processed, your order may ship a bit later than the shipping dates listed.

Past Boxes, Books, and Items from the SHOP:

  • Shop orders are typically processed and shipped within 2-6 business days. There are occasions when an order will be processed the same day as it was purchased. Our little owls are always hard at work!
  • Once an shipment has been processed, we are no longer able to cancel/refund that order.
  • Once your order ships, you will receive an email with your shipping notification and tracking number.

Special Edition Books and Boxes:

  • Our special edition pre-orders are purchased and shipped separately from our regular monthly boxes.
  • Each special edition shop listing will include an estimated ship date - usually close to the release book.
  • After that main ship date, any extra books and boxes purchased in the shop will be processed like a regular shop order.

Can I cancel my order?

If you need to cancel an order, please email your request to support@owlcrate.com.


Monthly Subscriptions:

  • If your renewal had gone through, you can expect to receive that month's box. Cancelling your subscription will not cancel the order that is already in the system or trigger a refund.
  • As long as your order/shipment hasn't moved into the "Processed" stage, which generally happens a few days before shipping, we will be happy to cancel and refund your order.
  • Please email customer support as soon as possible.

Shop Orders and Special Editions:

  • As long as your order/shipment hasn't moved into the "Processed" stage, which generally happens a few days before shipping, we will be happy to cancel and refund your order.

  • Once an order has been shipped, we are unable to accept returns or issue refunds. 

Can I change my shipping address?

Monthly Subscriptions:

  • If you need to update the shipping address on your subscriptions, you can do so through your customer account. You can find instructions HERE.
  • If your renewal has already gone through, please email support@owlcrate.com to ensure your current month's box gets shipped to the correct address. Updating your customer account will not update orders that are already in the system.
  • As long as your monthly shipment hasn't moved into the "Processed" stage, which generally happens a few days before shipping, we can still update your address.
  • If your shipment has been processed, we are no longer able to make changes and your box will be sent to the shipping address on file at time of renewal. Please make customer support aware of any changes ASAP.

Shop Orders and Special Editions:

  • These orders are separate from the regular monthly subscriptions. Updating the shipping address in your customer account will not update the address on pending shipments.
  • Please email support@owlcrate.com ASAP to update your shipping address.
  • As long as your order/shipment hasn't moved into the "Processed" stage, which generally happens a few days before shipping, we can still update your address.
  • If your shipment has been processed, we are no longer able to make changes and your box will be sent to the shipping address entered at checkout. Please make customer support aware of any changes ASAP.

My shipping notification listed multiple items but one is missing.

We are sorry for any confusion your shipping notification caused. This is a glitch we are looking into and hope to have a solution soon. Not to worry, your other item will be on the way soon!


This often happens when a pre-order item is purchased with other books/items from the online store. The available items will ship immediately and the pre-order item will ship closer to its estimated ship date. You can find the pre-order ship dates in the Special Edition Ship Dates section on our Shipping Updates page.


This also happens when YA and Adult subscriptions renew under the same transaction. Typically, your YA box will ship first and your Adult book will follow the next week. Our Shipping Updates page will have specific updates once we get closer to that box's ship date.


We will continue to work on a solution to avoid further confusion and provide clearer shipping notifications.
