About Readers Society
Readers Society is owned by Sophie Hutchings (she/her), OwlCrate's Head of Social Media and Contemporary Romance Co-Lead. Sophie started her UK-based business in November 2021.
Her goal was to create subtle bookish merchandise and jewelry that could be worn every day and that only fellow bookworms would understand.

The Readers Society aesthetic is inspired by secret societies and offers a variety of romance, fantasy, mythology, and dark academia-inspired bookish jewelry like necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and adjustable rings. They will be offering their brand new bookish watch at the end of 2024.
There are a range of collections on offer to choose from, including the Romance Collection, the Academia Collection, and the Fantasy Collection, to name just a few. The Romance Collection features items inspired by genres such as dark romance and cowboy romance (which Sophie is obsessed with), as well as items inspired by the worlds of Ana Huang and Ali Hazelwood. Her Academia Collection focuses on academic aesthetics and mythology-inspired items.
The Fantasy Collection has the largest offering, with items designed around tarot cards, well-known fantasy favorites, and inspired by the Grishaverse and Shadowhunter series, respectively. There are also author-specific-inspired items based on books like V.E. Schwab, Rebecca Yarros, and Olivie Blake. Readers Society also has jewelry that has been officially licensed by Sarah J. Maas and Stephanie Garber.

Reader Society products have been featured in two of our boxes, including the 2023 'Timeless Tales' Advent Calendar and the Literary Love box from February 2024.
