The story goes on...

Chapter 14:
After the first Night Migration Godwin House starts to feel like its old self and Felicity admits she actually feels happy. At the next Night Migration Ellis produces a book of poetry which they all take turns reading while drinking bourbon. It feels like a real sisterhood.

Ellis prepares an early morning picnic for her and Felicity down at the lake to go over how Cordelia died. Felicity surprises her by revealing that back in the eighteenth century there was no lake, it was man-made later. Ellis insists that it still could have been possible to drown her if the person who did it later moved the body.

That night Lemont House has a Halloween party and all the girls save Ellis from Godwin House decide to go. Felicity quickly gets drunk and finds herself kissing a girl in the backyard, only to look up and see Ellis watching her. Before she can catch her, Ellis disappears and back at Godwin House although Felicity can tell Ellis is in her room, she refuses to acknowledge her.

Chapter 15:
The next morning, hungover, Felicity confront Ellis about ignoring her during Ellis' fencing lesson. Back at Godwin House they share stories of their parents. Ellis asks Felicity to perform some real magic at the next Night Migration.

Chapter 16:
It’s Sunday, Samhain, and outside her window Felicity sees a figure with red hair. Alex. She runs into the night, into the woods, but doesn’t find a trace of her.

On the day of the next Night Migration Kajal tells Felicity she won’t be able to attend because she’s ill. Ellis has a problem with this and insists she attend but Felicity ends up being able to change her mind. That night once everyone has arrived for the meeting, Felicity leads them into the woods to an old abandoned church that the Margery coven uses to perform their initiations. Inside Felicity performs a spell to summon snow, and to everyone else’s surprise it works! They spend the night in drunken revelry in the forest. Felicity wakes up on the forest floor, surrounded by the others. Having a panic attack after thinking about what happened to Alex, Ellis is able to partially calm her down.

Back at the house Felicity showers and lays on her bedroom floor. Ellis puts Felicity's head in her lap and she promises to prove to her that magic and ghosts aren't real.

Questions:

  1. Why do you think Ellis was so insistent Kajal be at the Night Migration?
  2. Do you think the spell Felicity performed to make it snow actually worked or was it some sort of coincidence?
  3. Do you think Leonie knows something about Dalloway House that the school would rather have forgotten? What do you think it is?
  4. Why do you think all four girls passed out on the forest floor? Do you think it was just from drinking or something else?
  5. How do you think Ellis is going to prove to Felicity that magic isn't real?
