Details

Wooing the Witch Queen is a dashing tale full of romance and royalty.

Felix is a gentle archduke who finds himself fleeing his kingdom in disguise. During his escape, he runs straight into the arms of a wicked sorceress queen with a horrible reputation who, at first glance, seems to be just as evil as what the rumours say. When the evil queen decides to hire him as her librarian, he eagerly takes the risk of becoming one of her staff, hoping that his new queen's wickedness will be enough to shield him from his past.

As he gets to know her, though, Felix soon begins to realize that there’s a deeper, more tender side to his vile villainess. But things are never so easy, and soon, our protagonist finds himself facing the greatest risk of all—that of losing his heart.

    Beautiful copy!

This is the first time I like a reverse dust jacket more, but the whole book is well done and special.

    understated charm

Love the understated charm of the dust jacket - unique but still incorporates elements of the story. The matching ribbon bookmark is an elegant addition. The stenciled edges are lovely. Arrived in perfect condition. The only thing I would change is the actual book cover - while there is absolutely nothing wrong with it, I do not prefer gold embossed books - purely a preference.

Gorgeous edition of a favorite book

I already owned and read the ebook of Wooing the Witch Queen because Stephanie Burgis is one of my favorite writers of fantasy. I'd been debating between ordering the US or the UK edition of her latest book, both gorgeous covers but with very different designs. Then I saw the Owlcrate's fully ilustrated endpapers, sprayed edges and reversible dust jacket. Problem solved! i ordered it! As a collector of illustrated fiction published between 1900 and 1930, I now need to clear a shelf for the new collectibles: illustrated fiction from 2020s.
