About Midsummer Child
My name is Annie! I'm a 31-year-old candle maker working and living in a small village in the heart of England.
Midsummer Child's specialty is crafting mood-based, eco-friendly coconut wax candles inspired by all things bookish, magical, and seasonal, intended to transport you to your favorite fictional places or add whimsy and magic to the everyday. We have a strong focus on scent and the way it interacts with memory and mood.
I am always looking to find beauty in the little things and hope to send a little light, love, and warmth from my home to yours.
Fun Fact: I was born on Midsummer's Day! That's where the name for my little business originated. Me and my customers laugh about the irony of it, since I'm an Autumn girl at heart!

What inspired you to start your own business, and what has been your favourite achievement to date?
My passion for books, magic, and the natural world has always been my driving passion. When I started the business in 2017, it was difficult to find what I wanted to buy as a consumer on the UK market, so I made it myself!
One of my favourite achievements to date has been having my candles stocked in one of my favourite magical brick-and-mortar stores in the Peak District called Punnydukes.

What would your dream product / collaboration be?
I'd love to create an Addie LaRue candle in collaboration with V.E. Schwab!
What are some of your favourite books?

I flip-flop between romance and fantasy regularly! I adore the likes of Ashley Poston, Ali Hazelwood, and Ivy Fairbanks, along with great fantasy and romantasy writers like Rachel Gillig, V.E. Schwab, and Elizabeth Helen.
As a millennial, my heart will also always have a soft spot for 00's supernatural romance, too, like Twilight and Hush Hush!
I'm a sucker for a fake dating trope and have a soft spot for anything spooky.
