About Paper And Word
Paper and Word is an award-winning book sleeve business that has a passion for romanticising your reading! Alongside our sleeves, we stock everything from reading journals to tea to level up your reading self-care time. We are also in the very exciting process of opening our own bookshop on the Wirral, UK, which will be the UK's first fantasy-only brick-and-mortar independent bookshop!
Fun Fact: After studying French, I sat in a German exam by accident at A-Level. I passed!!

What inspired you to start your own business, and what has been your favourite achievement to date?
I have always been creative, whether it was sewing, crochet, photography, etc.
In 2018 I got a new fancy job with a long train commute, meaning epic reading time! My books were being destroyed, so I began making my own book sleeves, as there weren't really others I liked back then. It was pretty niche!
I am preemptively saying my favourite achievement is the bookshop—we've begun renovations and will be opening for autumn. I can't wait!

What would your dream product / collaboration be?
I would love to venture into creating some exclusive fantasy book editions for our bookshop!

Huge fantasy lover, and my all-time faves are Robin Hobb's The Realm of the Elderlings and Sarah J. Maas' Throne of Glass. Hobb is always the first author I recommend to everyone!
Some more recent favourites include Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil by V.E. Schwab and Faebound by Saara El-Arifi.
