Readers Society is a UK-based bookish jewellery brand founded by Sophie, OwlCrate’s Lead Romance Curator. Inspired by secret societies, Readers Society offers subtle, wearable designs that only fellow book lovers will recognise. From romance and dark academia to romantasy and mythology, each piece celebrates beloved genres, aesthetics, and fandoms.

What inspired you to start your own business, and what has been your favourite achievement to date?
I’ve always dreamed of running my own bookish shop, something that blended my background in fashion and accessories with my lifelong love of books! When I noticed a gap in the market for subtle bookish jewelry that readers could wear every day, Readers Society was born.
One of my proudest moments has been launching The Bookish Watch, a first-of-its-kind piece in the bookish merch space and something we put so much love and energy into creating. I’m also incredibly proud of my collaboration with Emily Varga for her preorder campaign of For She Is Wrath! A project so special that Emily and I might be working on something new. 👀

What would your dream product / collaboration be?
Hmm, probably an official collection by B.K. Borison.
As for products, I’d love to do more bookish home decor and clothing in the future!

Gosh, this is a tough question to answer! Some of my six-star reads are Ninth House, The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue, A Court of Mist and Fury, Heartless, Ghosts of the Shadow Market, Happy Place, and Final Offer!
