Kateryna Vitkovska (she/her) is a freelance digital artist who loves bringing fantasy to life. She's been drawing since she was a child (she loved The Little Mermaid, so she drew many mermaids), and it was her favorite pastime growing up.

As a child, she mainly drew on paper and a little bit in PowerPoint (which was her first experience with digital art). It wasn’t until 9 years ago that she started to seriously engage in digital art.

Kateryna mainly draws on her tablet and in Photoshop (or other art programs). She also enjoys using the kitbash technique when creating her art.

Where do you find inspiration
for your designs?

I’m inspired by books, movies, and video games. But probably my biggest inspiration is other artists. I really love watching how others work and the techniques they use. It motivates me to try my hand at the same thing.

Do you have a favorite piece of art you've created to date? What makes it special to you?

My favorite drawing is the fan art of Princess Mononoke (this drawing took me very little time - about 2 hours, but I am very happy with the result), and I drew it on vacation when I wanted to take a break from drawing, but the inspiration was quite strong!

What are some of your favorite
books or authors?

I really love Raven Kennedy's Plated Prisoner books, and I would like to work with her someday :) And I love books by Xiran Jay Zhao (Iron Widow, Heavenly Tyrant). I think I really like the concept of female rage in books that comes from the oppression of women.
