The Story Continues...

Chapter 13:
Anaïs drinks with Jacinthe until she confesses that it’s Clara, not the king, behind quashing the freedoms of the kingdom, inciting what is to be the rebellion. Wanting to find out more about Clara, Anaïs tackles Leo’s signet ring from him until the attack begins.

Chapter 14:
Using the signet ring Anaïs goes again to Leo. She ends up confessing her love for him.

This night they survive the blast, witnessing Faucher kill the king himself. It is then that Clara arrives, and when the rebels go to execute her she uses her magic to turn the bullets on themselves. With Faucher dead, Clara declares herself queen, and continues to murder her subjects if she deems them a threat. Before Clara can find Leo and kill him, as she undoubtedly would, Anaïs gets Leo to kill her.

Chapter 15:
Anaïs decides one way to stop Clara is to stop Faucher, so she disguises herself and goes to the only Poensan tavern in town, demanding an audience with the rebel. Like she suspected, Faucher is there. She tries to convince him to stop the coup, but her pleas go unanswered and Anaïs is shot.

 Questions:

  1. Do you think Anaïs is going to be able to convince Faucher to stop the attack?
  2. Do you think Clara is truly behind the manipulation of Faucher?
  3. If Anaïs' locket has able to store Leo's ring, do you think it has any other powers? If so, do you think it will be helpful for Anaïs?
