Hello friends! Our lovely team at OwlCrate Jr started doing small monthly reading wrap up on their blog and we wanted in on the fun!

Here are some of Team OwlCrate's fav reads from the month of June!

Heartstopper Vol. 4
by Alice Oseman

One of my top reads of the month was definitely the next volume of the adorable Heartstopper graphic novel series! This series follows Charlie and Nick as they become friends, fall in love, and navigate their relationship. This is one of my favorite graphic novel series of all time, and volume 4 was just as delightful as the rest. This volume was a bit more serious in tone, dealing with mental health issues as well as eating disorders, but I found it be handled with a lot of care and heart. A perfect read during Pride month, or any time of the year!

What If It's Us
by Adam Silvera and Becky Albertali

A friend of mine recommended I check out What If It's Us, and oh am I glad she did! I read the entire thing in one weekend and definitely see myself re-reading it in the future.

If you are a fan of love stories that have some funny moments, I think you'd really like this.

Ravage the Dark
by Tara Sim
Ravage the Dark is the sequel to Scavenge the Stars and I think this was an excellent conclusion to the story. There is corruption, revenge, a heist, and some romantic moments. I will say this… I know the first book was seen as a Count of Monte Cristo retelling but I feel the second book leaves that comparison behind and is its own story - maybe with an “essence” of Monte Cristo.

I Wanna Be Where You Are
by Kristina Forest
Chloe is determined to audition for the dance conservatory of her dreams, but her mom forbids it - cue road trip! I don't know about you but I LOVE some YA contemporary in the summer. I Wanna Be Where You Are ticked all the boxes for me - road trip, a bit of a bad boy romance, and of course Chloe, our awesome main character ready to get out of her comfort zone to follow her dreams! If you want a contemporary that's fun and fluffy at times but also has a lot of heart and emotion, check this out!
