Anne and Diana have a nostalgic and unforgettable friendship (#bosom buddies 4ever), but we also wanted to celebrate Anne and Gilbert - a classic OTP! (#swoon) These are the connections and relationships that span multiple books and all stages of life.

The sock pattern was designed by the talented Janine Lacour (@janinelacour). Working with Janine is always such a great experience. When we were gathering artist ideas for the Advent Calendar, we immediately thought of Janine.
For this project, we feel that she really understood how to represent the beauty of the relationships between Anne and Gilbert, and Anne and Diana (the pinky swear!). The wildflowers and daisies feel so fitting. She was able to translate her beautiful patterns into functional art that we can wear every day!
A Peek Behind the Scenes…
Including Anne of Green Gables and socks in this box were separate ideas in the early days, but once we started talking about pairing items and fandoms, this seemed like a perfect match (too much?). Originally, we wanted super fluffy socks for the extra warm and cozy feeling but we soon realized the image would get lost in all the fluff. Designing items takes a lot of pivoting but this change was for the best.
We knew we wanted to bring as much value to this box as we could so, to make things a bit more extra, we decided on two pairs of socks with two different patterns. This style of sock with Janine's artwork was exactly what we needed. We love that the colour palettes are similar enough that you could mix and match them, or wear them as a proper pair.
There have been some really fun and amazing unboxings online and we love them!
