'Omen Of Ice' Book Club Readalong Day 7!

Amber and I are BACK this September for a fun new readalong! We're about to start our monthly discussion for our August YA book, Omen Of Ice by Jus Accardo!

As a reminder, from now on, our monthly discussions will be both here on the OwlCrate blog AND on The Nest! Go check out Amber's discussion that will be full of fun extras like bookish charades, shelf scavenger hunts and coloring pages!

On each day we'll read a section of Omen Of Ice, both on the blog and in The Nest's group, and then discuss in the comments our theories and predictions. This means there will be spoilers for each section! Beware! 

Just a reminder that this will be a SPOILER discussion for chapters 31-35 of Omen Of Ice, so make sure you read or are finished this section before continuing.

The kelpie is my current fav character. I stand by this. Daroose is awesome.

Chapter Thirty-One (Keltania):

Daroose tells Keltania that she can relax now and they can return the young to their mother. Delkin implores her to think and apologizes that she's feeling his rage as an empath and druid. 

Keltania doesn't listen. The rage overtakes her and the party shatters. 

As they carry on with their journey Delkin apologizes and explains her druid gifts to her. The party travels through the woods for three days until they reach a Piskie town that Delkin and Benj have business in. 

Daroose drags Keltania to the pub and gives her Piskie ale which gets her immediately drunk. Valen shows up and he and Daroose have to cajole and carry Keltania out of the pub. 



Chapter Thirty-Two (Valen):

The group find rooms in the Piskie town and Valen and Keltania are in a room together. They flirt and kiss and pull away from one another when they realize what they're doing. 

Eventually Keltania shoves Valen away and leaves the room. He follows her to see she's meeting with Daroose and kisses him on the cheek. Delkin comes up behind Valen and asks him what is wrong, Valen tells him about the kiss.Delkin responds that Valen likely has feelings for the druid and tells him that wards can be broken. 

The next day they continue their journey to Ventin Peaks and have to climb. Valen and Keltania discuss their link again. Keltania tells him the link is killing her but Valen misunderstands.



Chapter Thirty-Three (Keltania):

The party makes it halfway up the peak before breaking for camp. Keltania and Valen are the only ones awake and they discuss what they'll do after their journey. 

Keltania tells Valen that she will stay on as his guardian and tries to reassure Valen. 

Valen admits he likes her and then tells her about the tear he found under the castle. He tells her about how everyone's been being lied to and about how he absorbed some of the druid power that Keltania is using. She feels betrayed and tells Valen that after their journey she will return to the castle with a army to raze it to the ground to get the tear back. Keltania angrily packs and goes on ahead without anyone. 

Daroose follows but Keltania sends him back to Valen but not before Daroose tells her that Valen doesn't deserve her. 

Keltania carries on along the path and runs into Lianai...



Chapter Thirty-Four (Valen):

Valen feels bad and tells himself he should have gone with Keltania. He realizes that Keltania was being serious that the link was going to kill her and Delkin confirms it. 

They continue on and arrive in Ventin a little after midday to find it deserted. They split up to look for her and Valen finds his aunt running toward him. Liani tells Valen that the Aphelian has been duplicitous and is planning to break the link, take him hostage and steal back the tear. 

Valen disagrees with her and see that Keltania is bound in chains. Liani tells Valen that the druid priestess is here preparing to separate him and Keltania. 

Levina comes to them and they're placed up in chains that have been coated in jalva oil. Levina tells Keltania not to worry, but that she has to put a dagger through Valen's heart. Keltania asks why and it's to transwer power...from Valen through her to Liani...



Chapter Thirty-Five (Keltania):

Keltania refuses to do it and admits that she cares about Valen. Levina taunts Valen about his Aunt lying to him for years. Liani reveals that Delkin is Delkin Arrell Frostreaver, the true King and Winter Lord.
