'The Whispering Dark' Book Club Readalong Day 5!

Welcome back to the fifth day of our book club readalong for OwlCrate's October book, The Whispering Dark by Nicole Kelly Andrew!

Chapter 30:
Delaney has been summoned to Whitehall’s office to be reprimanded for her behaviour- for missing class, for potentially cheating, for being friends with Colton. Colton has been put on probation for the rest of the semester and is considered a person of interest in Nate’s alleged hazing.

Chapter 31:
In a mirror world Liam Price is married, wife pregnant. He thinks of his drowned little brother C.J. Walking home alone at night he gets the sense of being watched and spots a man in the shadows. When headlights light up his face it’s like seeing a ghost.

Chapter 32:
Delaney falls asleep studying in the library on a Thursday, waking from a nightmare to books piled all around her feet. Mackenzie and Adya take her out, but she again has a vision and wakes up back in the library. But now it’s Friday. Delaney is losing time.

Chapter 33:
Delaney runs to Colton’s house to find the front door ajar. Inside is a mess, broken glass everywhere, which Delaney accidentally cuts her hand on. Colton appears in the door behind her, looking beat up. 

Chapter 34:
The “thing” that was inside Nate is inside Delaney. She’s losing time because she feels like it’s fighting inside of her. She begs Colton to help her get it out.

Chapter 35:
Colton wakes to Delaney’s hands around his throat - she clearly isn’t in control. He uses a command taught to him by the Priory to send whatever is controlling her away.

Chapter 36:
The creature appears at midnight each day and it talks to Colton. When Colton asks what it wants, it tells him that it wants to find its brother, just like Colton.

Chapter 37:
Colton wakes Delaney standing in his office - she painted an ouroboros with the word Sequestrum beneath it. He gets her to help him with something, taking them to a house where Colton has her to remove a bone shard from a room he is unable to enter. The bone shard is his.

Chapter 38:
Alone at Colton's while he is out for a run, Meeker pays Delaney a visit and smells the immortality on her. Colton arrives, and when Meeker tells him there is no way he's keeping that information from their boss, Colton kills him. Telling Delaney he had no choice.

 Questions:
